Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan is set to film her character Tina McIntyre's murder four times to keep the identity of the killer under wraps.

It was announced last year that Tina would be killed off when Michelle leaves the ITV soap in May, but according to The Sun, producers are so keen to avoid storyline leaks that the actress will go through the harrowing scenes four times with different cast members playing the murderer.

Apparently, the murder won't be a whodunnit - viewers will see who carries out the killing as it happens - but filming it with four different villains will avoid the surprise being spoilt by set leaks.

Writers are said to be drawing up the list of four suspects this week, with likely candidates including Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) who had an affair with Tina, Carla Connor (Alison King) his wife, Rob Donovan (Marc Bayliss) who is Carla's brother and who kissed Tina, and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), Rob's girlfriend and Peter's sister.

Chris is also due to leave the soap at the end of the year after telling producers he wanted a break, while Marc's contract has only been extended for six months but has an option of being extended for a further six.

Michelle has starred in the soap for seven years and is engaged to former The Only Way Is Essex favourite Mark Wright.
