Eggs on your face and chocolate on your skin? That's how your Easter should be shaping up if you want to look younger!
Why not try some of these DIY beauty recipes on for size.
1. How to make your own egg face mask
Whether its fine lines, enlarged pores or puffy under-eye areas that are threatening to ruin your Bank Holiday weekend, an egg white mask will work on your woes. Using your ring finger, dab a thin layer of raw egg white on the troublesome area (make sure not to get it in your eyes), leave to dry for around 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
2. How to make your own body scrub
There’s nothing quite like a good slough of dead skin cells, and the added bonus of this DIY darling from Henry Happened is it smells delicious too.
Mix together brown sugar, white sugar, almond oil, cocoa powder and peppermint oil until a pliable consistence. Store in a sealable jar and use in the shower or bath; simply scoop a small amount of the scrub with your fingers and gently massage over your body in a circular motion.
3. How to make your own face mask
Carrots are jam-packed with retinol, a vital anti-ageing ingredient, which is why we love this homemade mask from Makeupandbeauty. Simply boil a few carrots and mash into a creamy paste. Finally add a teaspoon of oatmeal and a teaspoon of honey and mix together.
Apply to the face and leave on for 10-15 minutes before washing off with warm water. It is recommended to moisturise after using the mask, as it can be a little drying, and to use it only once or twice a week as the colouring of the carrots can transfer onto your skin. If orange is your thing, use more!
It is advisable to test any homemade recipes on the inside of your arm before applying to the face.
