Prince George’s first day at nursery threw up yet more adorable photographs of the mini monarch-to-be. But how does His Royal Cuteness shape up against his royal predecessors?
Well, since the royals have been traditionally home schooled he didn’t have much competition. But we did manage to dig out these archive images of his dad – then known as “Prince William” – during his first foray into the educational system.
Yep, there’s the Duke of Cambridge giving a rather formal handshake to Mrs Jane Mynors at the Jane Mynors nursery school in London. Proud mum Princess Diana looks on.
William’s certainly got better at eye contact since he was a tot. But his son George already knows where the lens is – as the photos of his first day at Westacre Montessori nursery school in Norfolk clearly show.
Can we glean anything about the tiny prince’s emotional response to their first day at nursery? Well, we do have a picture of William after his first day – stripy jumper in hand. And quite frankly the third in line to the throne looks in a bit of a huff. Or is that just a steely determination to do well?
Meanwhile, George’s arrival at nursery almost exactly three decades later was filled with wonder. Just look at how the little prince – undoubtedly a keen nature lover – marvelled at the foliage on the mural behind him.
One thing’s for sure, there’s an “adorable toddler” gene going strong in this family.
