Supposedly 'healthy' drinks aimed at children have been found to contain around four teaspoons of sugar, almost the same as what is contained in a serving of Coke!
Fruit juice is just as bad. You may offer orange or apple juice as a healthy breakfast-time accompaniment, however, research has shown that some juices contain as much sugar as four doughnuts – shocking!
The alternative: Water. We know it’s boring but this should be the main liquid choice for your kids. Obviously we’re not saying ban other drinks, but just don’t offer them as standard.
