An Oscar winning actress, Olympic gold medallist and groundbreaking artist are just some of the stars of Marks and Spencer's new autumn campaign.
Billed as Britain's Leading Ladies, the brand new campaign, shot by Annie Lebovitz, stars 12 British women from very diverse backgrounds and professions.
There's Dame Helen Mirren leaning on model Karen Elson; singer Ellie Goulding, Olympic boxing champion and philanthropist Katie Piper striking a pose; and Jasmine Whitbread, CEO of Save the Children International and Helen Allen, nurse of the year 2011 looking strong and powerful with US Vogue's Grace Coddington.
You'll also spot award-winning author Monica Ali, ballerina Darcey Bussell, groundbreaking artist Tracey Emin and singer/songwriter Laura Mvula showcasing Marks and Spencer's new autumn collection.
The first shot focuses on the brand's hero winter coats, from a luxe, blush-pink coats to a soft, faux fur jacket and clean, simple shapes in pale tones.
"We wanted this campaign to signal a new and confident tone of voice to introduce Autumn," says Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, executive director marketing and business development at M&S.
"Annie was the perfect choice to shoot a campaign of this magnitude. Her unmistakable, signature style, with its truly dramatic aesthetic was exactly what we needed to communicate the essence of the campaign and of the new M&S. Annie’s photography has become synonymous with defining key moments in the history of brands over the years and, as such, we feel that this campaign is the ideal way to illustrate M&S’ move into a new era."
In this second shot, the British countryside is the ideal backdrop for the ultra feminine per una line. From the chic cream statement coat and head turning bold print wrap dress to a timeless soft leather jacket, the entire range has a touch everyday glamour.
All items featured in the campaign are available to buy in stores and online from September.
