Wedding dresses may have come on leaps and bounds since the 80s – meringue-inspired gown, anyone? – but that doesn’t mean everyone gets it right.
According to list directory Wrappler.com, we’ve got a pretty strong opinion to what’s right, and what’s wrong, when it comes to dresses for the big day.
And one person who’s never quite hit a sartorial high is Katie Price, who’s not only been unlucky in love but unlucky in choosing a stylish dress, too.
She appears three times in the list of the worst celebrity wedding dresses, with the pink, puffy gown worn for her 2005 nuptials to now ex-husband Peter Andre coming in at number one.
Her more recent attempts didn’t fare so well either; the miniscule dress she wore to marry Kieran Hyland in 2013, above, was said to “lack class” at number four while the Cinderella-style gown worn to marry Alex Reid in in 2010 just made the top 10.
In second place came Celine Dion, who’s OTT dress in 1994 was accessorised not by her husband Rene but an enormous Swarovski crystal tiara.
Third place went to Emma Thompson for her untraditional and unusual printed short dress for her 1989 wedding to Kenneth Branagh.
Also in the top 10 were Nicole Richie’s frou-frou Marchesa gown, Lady Mary Charteris’ rather risqué Pam Hogg creation and Gwen Stefani’s pink dip-dyed Dior design.
Even Princess Diana’s iconic Emanuel wedding dress got a mention with one respondent describing it as “the meringue from hell”.
