When it comes to cocktails there are just so many to choose from. Are you a fan of the tangy Cosmopolitan, or do you prefer the seriously strong taste of a Dirty Martini?

Maybe you love the fun fruitiness of a Sex On The Beach? Do you prefer rum, or gin or maybe vodka? There are just so many decisions to make. If it’s vodka you fancy then this is the page for you.

We’ve taken a run-of-the-mill cocktail and given it a punch of watermelon and lime twist. The freshness of the watermelon complements the citrus of the lime juice fantastically - nothing says cocktail quite like an in ice cold Watermelon and Lime twist!

The delicious addition of blueberries and watermelon to this tasty cocktail certainly brings out a deliciously fruity kick (as well as being one of your five-a-day). So get your ice at the ready and the best bit? There’s no need for a cocktail shaker!

Makes 2
Ready in 5 minutes

300g watermelon, cut into chunks and with pips removed
1 lime
4tsp golden Caster Sugar
100ml vodka
Ice cubes
Handful of blueberries
Watermelon slices and mint springs, to garnish

You will need
A blender

1. Put the watermelon chunks into a blender. Puree until smooth then strain, with a sieve, into two glasses.

2. Squeeze the juice from the limes and share this between the glasses. Pour in the golden caster sugar and vodka. Stir well and allow a few moments for the sugar to dissolve.

3. Add a few blueberries to each glass, then top up with ice cubes. Serve, decorated with watermelon slices and mint sprigs.

Tip: You could use a cantaloupe melon instead, the colour will be peachy rather than pink.
