Music videos are an underrated art form, and for me, there used to be nothing better than getting home from school and spending hours watching music channels, seeing the visualisations that brought the work of my favourite artists to life.
Spotify wants to help you recreate some of the most memorable looks in your favourite videos and have teamed up with make-up artist to the stars, Pat McGrath.
Now you'll be able to see all the most amazing beauty moments on MTV Classic (channel 538) and VH1 (channel 542) are now available on BT TV.
To celebrate, we look back at our most memorable make-up looks.
1. Jennifer Lopez ft. LL Cool J – All I Have
JLo’s frosted eye make-up and glossy lips are noughties perfection in All I Have.
Her furry baker boy hat is pure festive season fashion inspiration too.
2. Nicki Minaj – Super Bass
Yellow and pink shouldn’t work together and yet they do.
Back when Nicki Minaj wore technicolour wigs, she was experimenting with bright eyeshadow and we are forever grateful for the electric inspiration.
3. David Bowie – Life on Mars
What beauty list would be complete without an appearance by David Bowie?
David Bowie made ground-breaking leaps for male makeup and what could be more iconic than his perfectly applied cobalt eye shadow, contrasting orange hair and perfect pink lips and blusher.
4. Rihanna – Rude Boy
It’s hard to pick just one Rihanna video since all of her looks are so iconic, it’s no wonder she has her own super successful cosmetics brand.
Her colourful smudged out eyes bring the drama in Rude Boy though.
5. Britney Spears – Oops I Did It Again
Signifying the beginning of Britney’s transition from child star to womanly pop star, her sickly sweet makeup contrasts her sexy PVC catsuit.
6. Lana Del Rey – Young and Beautiful
You can always count on Lana to deliver on sultry old Hollywood glamour.
Her video for the track from The Great Gatsby is one of her best.
7. Madonna – Hung Up
Perhaps not an obvious Madonna choice, but this track features some seriously cool 1970s inspired looks complete with Farrah Fawcett waves.
8. David Guetta ft. Kelly Rowland – When Love Takes Over
The video for 2009’s summer anthem sees Kelly Rowland looking like a glorious goddess with beautiful sunset eyes.
9. Lil Kim ft. Lil Cease – Crush On You
Lil Kim does not get nearly enough recognition for matching her makeup to her wigs.
Of the many great looks in this video, her all green everything one is probably her best.
10. Katy Perry ft. Kanye West – E.T.
Katy Perry’s ethereal alien is the stuff dreams are made of.
11. Aaliyah – Try Again
So great is this look, that Kim Kardashian decided to recreate it for Halloween.
Aaliyah set the bar seriously high for smokey eyes.
12. Christina Aguilera ft. Redman – Dirrty
Another Mickey Mouse Club alumnus, Christina Aguilera’s Dirrty look inspired many a teenage grungy phase.
13. Selena Gomez ft. Gucci Mane – Fetish
Inspiring 2017’s best beauty looks, it’s Selena Gomez in the video for Fetish with some seriously dewy skin.
Her shimmering lips and nude nails complete the natural look.
14. Gwen Stefani – What You Waiting For?
It’s not just Gwen who looks great in this Alice In Wonderland inspired video, her backing dancers are also serving some scene-stealing looks.
15. Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head
We can't get Kylie's simple red lip out of our heads either.
16. Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce - Telephone
Trust two of the best-loved female performers of our generation to serve seriously fierce looks.
Who knew cans of Diet Coke made such great rollers?
