It’s probably just spare change to the future Mrs Brad Pitt, but it’s been reported that Angelina Jolie spends an impressive £15,000 a year on ‘raindrop’ facials to ensure her skin is red carpet ready.

The Maleficent star is said to love the non-invasive treatment that uses microdermabrasion and a laser, the effect of which is said to feel like warm raindrops on the skin.

Then follows an acid exfoliation and gentle wave lights and 35 minutes later, skin is left glowing with a youthful complexion.

And it pays to have friends in high places. Dr David Colbert, who treats Angelina, told Grazia magazine that he developed a skin cream specifically to use on the actress to keep skin looking calm and dewy.

The Black Swan actress was apparently so fearful of ‘puffy face’ (i.e looking puffy) before her Friends With Benefit promo tour that she forked out $7,000 on an HD Diamond and Ruby Facial.

The eye-wateringly expensive treatment, formulated by Scott-Vincent Borba, uses crushed rubies and diamonds (known to for their glow-promoting qualities) to scrub the face, arms and back.

A paraffin facial and collagen-inducing LED Red Light finishes off the less than relaxing sounding treatment.

Oh, and Mila reportedly had to suck on an ice cube throughout the process to decrease puffiness.

For almost the price of an actual facelift, Dangene Bailey’s Personal Face Training is said to be a favourite among the likes Heidi Klum and model Jessica Stam.

The treatment often involves the client moving between three rooms of her exclusive Beverly Hills salon where their skin is treated to chemical peels, light therapy, lasers and oxygen.

If the $1,250 price tag for a single sitting doesn’t put you off, bear in mind that Bailey recommends one session per week for the first six weeks. A bargain at $7,500!

Our very own Lisa caused something of a ruckus last year when she tweeted a picture of herself enjoying a 24-carat gold facial worth an impressive £1,000.

The Gold Bee Venom Facial, at London’s May Fair Hotel, promises to tighten, brighten, soothe and rejuvenate the skin. Ellie Goulding, Donna Air and Poppy Delevingne are also rumoured to be fans.

She may sing that Love Don’t Cost A Thing but good skin does have a price tag – over $1,000.

44-year-old Jennifer Lopez’s radiant, dewy skin is said to be the result of twice-weekly placenta facials, costing around a grand a pop.

The treatment uses protein and iron-rich extracts from human placentas, which is smeared into the face to stimulate skin regeneration. J-Lo credits the facials with leaving her skin looking plump and clear.

We think you’d have to pay us more than that to have it smeared on our faces…

Three different machines tighten and brighten skin during the $1,000 3D Facial at New York’s Paul Labrecque salon.

Bridget Jones’ actress Renee Zellweger is said to be a fan of its results; it begins with microdermabrasion to remove dull, dead skin cells, followed by a Titan laser that heats the skin and stimulates collagen before a laser treats lines, redness and uneven skin texture.

The treatment finishes with a collagen mask. And a cup of tea we hope.

Tracie Martyn’s Red Carpet Facial is so sought after by A-listers that she takes her New York spa to LA in the week’s running up to the big awards ceremonies.

Dubbed the “non-surgical mini face lift”, Kate Winslet was quoted as saying the facial “tightens up your skin so much you look like you’ve been on a two-week retreat to Thailand.”

Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Connelly are also said to be fans which will put you back $450. Seems like pocket change compared to the others...
