The smell of freshly baked bread is said to have a positive effect on our moods.

However, baking bread itself is often thought to be quite a stressful process, what with the many steps, the sheer physical effort of kneading and seemingly hundreds of proofs.

And since we don’t have all have a fully equipped kitchen complete with a proofing drawer like they do on The Great British Bake Off, it can often be seen as more of a hassle than it’s worth.

But in steps Richard Burr, GBBO finalist, and his baking hacks – including a bonkers but brilliant way to make your own proving drawer. All you need is a bin liner and a bit of patience…
