The Christmas and Boxing Day sales are a great way to pick up a bargain, and perhaps buy a last-minute gift or even bag something for next Christmas?

With just days left to Christmas retailers have started slashing prices to attract shoppers looking to get some last-minute bargains on food, gifts, partywear and decorations.

Here’s where to shop for the best discounts:

Asda has slashed the cost of Christmas vegetables. You can pick up a 500g bag of sprouts, a 1kg pack of carrots, a 360g broccoli and a 500g bag of parsnips for just 20p each.

Argos is offering an extra 15% off jewellery when you spend £50 or more online with code JEWEL15.

At ASOS you can find 70% off gifts.

Boots is counting down to Christmas with special daily deals available online up to Christmas Eve. Elsewhere you can get up 50% off selected fragrance, up to 15% off selected Fitbit watches and 20% off Christmas gifts.

Currys/PC World is offering thousands of Christmas savings like £50 off iPad Pro tablets, 10% off Windows two-in-one laptops, 20% off dashcams, half-price coffee machines and more. It’s deal of the day is 50% off all Belkin power banks.

Debenhams has a half-price womenswear and shoe event as well as up to 50% off gifts, games, toys and novelty presents.

Need something with a bit of sparkle? Dorothy Perkins is offering up to 40% off festive fashions online.

Gap has launched its Big Winter Sale with up to 50% off across its menswear, womenswear and kidswear in-store and online.

The George Home sale has started with savings on microwaves, bedding, Polaroid TVs and more.

The Habitat winter sale is now on in-store and online with up to 50% off bedding, rugs, cushions, bedroom furniture, storage furniture, glassware, dinnerware, tables, chairs, lighting, mattresses and more.

House of Fraser is offering up to 50% of suits, 30% off dancefloor dresses and 30% off gifts. There’s also a range of  Christmas Offers with up to 50% off selected products.

The IKEA sale starts in store on Thursday December 22. The products on sale will vary but it’s likely the winter holiday collection will be reduced in most stores and IKEA Family Members will get an extra 10% off sale items.

At Jack Wills you can get 25% off everything online.

JD Sports has an accessories sale on in store and online.

John Lewis is offering up to 50% selected womenswear brands like Whistles, Dune and Phase Eight, up to 30% off in its Christmas shop plus 20% off selected glassware.

At Marks & Spencer you can get up to 50% off Christmas gifts and decorations.

New Look has up to 50% off womens, mens, shoes and more.

Need a new outfit for all your festive celebrations? At River Island you can get up to 50% off partywear.

Smyths has a three for two offer on all board games in store and online.

At Topshop you can get up to 30% off beauty, Ivy Park and partywear.

Toys R Us is offering three for two on LEGO Dimension packs, 25% off Hasbro Gaming and half-price on wheels, sports and Star Wars toys.

The Sainsbury’s TU Clothing sale is on now perfect if you are trying to get some last-minute presents. There’s up to 50% off thousands of womenswear, menswear and kidswear products in-store and online while stocks last.

Boxing Day sales

For those well prepared for Christmas, here's where to find the biggest Boxing Day sales:

Aldi is closed on Boxing Day, but its Winter Sale begins on Tuesday December 27 with up to 50% off selected Specialbuys and seasonal products.

The Clas Ohlson sale begins on Christmas Day for online shoppers and will start in-store on December 26

The Currys/PC World Boxing Day sale starts in-store and online on Christmas Eve from Saturday December 24 with thousands of deals at the store’s lowest ever prices.

The Debenhams half-price sale starts online on Christmas Eve and hits stores on Boxing Day. The sale will run for 10 days in-store and 12 days online.

The House of Fraser Big Brand Boxing Day sale will launch midday online on Christmas Eve and will hit stores from Monday December 26 at 7am. The sale will feature up to 50% off on fashion, home and beauty.

John Lewis is starting its sale online at 8pm on Christmas Eve and in stores from December 27. Only the Trafford Centre store will be open Boxing Day with sale items on offer.

The Very sale starts on Friday December 23 at 10pm and will feature up to 50% off clothing & footwear (until January 25 2017 at 9am), home & furniture and electricals (until Thursday February 2 2017 at 12pm).
