Watch this amazing footage as the team behind the Bloodhound world land speed record attempt test essential communications by flying an Aero L39 Albatros jet head-to-head with a four-wheel-drive Jaguar F-Type and XJ saloon.

On the Hakskeen Pan, Northern Cape in South Africa crucial planning and testing is taking place to ensure that the Bloodhound can send essential data and live video streams back to base, as well as broadcast around the world even at 1,000mph - that's a mile covered every 3.6 seconds!

To simulate the high speeds the Jaguars were fitted with the receiver equipment and the jet was flown in the opposite direction to create a closing speed of 650mph.

Currently being assembled in Bristol, the Bloodhound is expected to be completed this summer, with initial test runs in the UK seeing it reach 200mph before it is shipped to South Africa.

Further test runs will aim to build up to 800mph, beating the existing record of 760mph set by Thrust SSC and Andy Green, with the final goal of breaking 1,000mph in 2016.
