The best New York nightlife venues - according to Real Housewives of New York icon Ramona Singer

Real Housewives of New York icon Ramona Singer tells us where to dine, drink and party in New York City.

The outspoken OG Real Housewife Ramona Singer took some time out of her gruelling Real Housewives of New York series 10 promotional tour to let us know where the hottest spots in her city are – as well as some of her personal favourites.

Mr Purple Rooftop Bar

Ramona told us Mr Purple is where young ones are heading in New York these days, including her almost 23-year-old university grad daughter Avery.

“Mr Purple is a little young for me but Avery absolutely loves it. They have a fabulous rooftop bar and great food – it is really fun,” Ramona said.

Set upon the 15th floor of Hotel Indigo on Orchard Street, Lower East Side, this bar boasts panoramic views of the city, a rooftop bar and swimming pool and an on-trend cocktail menu. The food menu isn’t bad either, with healthy offerings such as kale and brussels salad to indulgent sliders and buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches.

Rose Bar

Another ridiculously swanky NYC hotel bar, Rose Bar is situated inside the imposing Gramercy Park Hotel and is a particular fave of Ramona’s.

“Love it here, one of my favourites!” she said.

The Rose Bar is described by the hotel as home to Fashion Week after-parties, private movie screenings, press events and as a live music destination. And just about anyone to anyone has been spotted here – from Sienna Miller to Hugh Grant to Bar Refaeli – and the Real Housewives of New York themselves (of course!).

Lure Fishbar

“One of my favourite restaurants which I go to once a week - and Avery loves going there too - is called Lure Fishbar. It is really great,” Ramona told us.

Famed for its luxury yacht inspired interior and delectable seafood offerings, Lure Fishbar is located on Mercer Street in the ever-fashionable SoHo.

Billed as an American Nouveau seafood restaurant, it also has a sister restaurant in the New York millionaire’s sunshine playground – South Beach, Miami.

The Bar at the NoMad Hotel

Located in the historical NoMad neighbourhood of Manhattan, The Bar at the NoMad evokes a classic New York City tavern atmosphere of decades past. The cocktail bar is award-winning, while the casual menu is perfect for a light snack with your poisons of choice.

“I love Nomad - they have a chicken with truffles for two which is off the charts,” Ramona explained.

This famous bar dish offers a particularly exquisite take on the traditional cottage pie – as both black truffles and foie gras are added into the mix.

“Of course, I can’t forget mentioning my local bar - TBar. I believe I have filmed there numerous times.”

Indeed, any NYC Housewives fan will likely recognise the interiors of TBar, a classic steakhouse that has appeared several times across the 10 series.

Located on 3rd Avenue - just a stone’s throw away from Ramona’s Manhattan Upper East Side apartment, this restaurant offers a traditional high-end chophouse menu that includes chicken milanese, filet mignon and naturally-aged NY strip.

New episodes of Season 10 of Real Housewives of New York are available to stream on Hayu now.
