Lincolnshire Day was traditionally celebrated to mark the anniversary of the Lincolnshire Rising, when the Catholics revolted against Henry VIII’s establishment of the Church of England in 1536.

Now, locals are instead encouraged to honour the county’s traditions, past and culture.
