Going on a nudist holiday, sunbathing starkers or visiting a nudist beach would be considered by 59% of Brits, a survey has found.

In a survey of 2,000 Brits, lastminute.com found that 35% of men and 17% of women would consider sunbathing naked on their 2016 summer holiday.

They might chicken out when they actually get there though – only 8% of those surveyed have actually been on a nudist holiday in the past before.

But don’t worry – Andrew Welch from British Naturism has you covered (but not literally, because that’s the whole point).

He said: “For those visiting a nudist beach for the first time, the best advice is to relax, enjoy it and forget about what people think or how you look.”

However, image was the most popular reason to bare all on the beach, with 42% saying getting an even tan was the best reason to sunbathe without clothes. Only 21% did it to “reconnect with nature”.

So next time you book your beach holiday to the Costa del Sol, be brave and leave the bikini at home – who knows, you might enjoy it.
