If you thought dropping £70 on an impromptu ASOS order or treating yourself to a weekly shop at Waitrose instead of boring old Tesco was an extravagant move, we’ve got something that might feel OK about your expenditure.

There’s a set of towels up for grabs on Amazon.com for the very reasonable price of $796,046,677,457.16 (£521,466,097,990.19).

The six-piece set of Calcot Growers 100 percent Supima Zero-Twist Cotton towels come in a trendy “Amethyst” hue, and are made of U.S. grown cotton, and are “exceptionally heavyweight” and “more absorbent” according to the product’s description. While we’re sure drying ourselves with “zero-twist” towels must be the height of luxury, we’re not sure it’s worth forking out a few billion quid for them.

Alas, the people of Amazon seem to agree, and the set has but a modest three and a half stars so far.

Hmm, we’re not entirely convinced that this set it worth forking out £512 billion for. If anyone needs us, we’ll be sobbing into our run-of-the-mill Ikea towels and dreaming of delightful Supima Zero-Twist Cotton.
