The Leaders’ Debate was a chance for the political leaders to face each other ahead of the elections in June and debate key issues including Brexit, employment, the economic plan and healthcare.

Scottish First Minister and SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon, Liberal Democrat chief Tim Farron, Ukip’s Paul Nuttall, Plaid Cymru’s Leanne Wood and Green co-leader Caroline Lucas showed up for the ITV debate in Salford.

But both the Prime Minister Theresa May and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn turned down the invitation to take part.
