You may have noticed several famous landmarks and companies seem to have dropped some of the letters from their names.
So what’s going on?
It’s all part of a campaign by the NHS to encourage more people to become blood donors.
Participating businesses and organisations are dropping the As, Bs and Os – the letters of the main blood groups – from their signage for the week-long Missing Type campaign.
It’s happening at home and overseas, where South Africa’s Table Mountain is temporarily “Tle Muntin” and Bondi Beach is doing the same.
The number of people becoming donors and giving blood for the first time in England decreased by 24.4% in 2015 compared to 2005.
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHS BT) is working with donor organisations across 21 countries to highlight the importance of new donors coming forward.
