A US couple who are trying to convince their children that their toy dinosaurs come to life during the night have become the latest social media hit.
Refe Tuma and his wife, of Kansas City, Missouri, spend each November creating fun scenarios with the toys for their children to discover each morning.
Now their ‘Dinovember’ Facebook page, which displays photographs of the miniature dinos’ adventures around the Tuma household, has attracted over 65,000 ‘likes' - and is set to go viral.
“It began modestly enough,” says Mr Tuma on his blog.
“The kids woke up to discover that the dinosaurs had gotten into a box of cereal and made a mess on the kitchen table.
“The next morning, the dinos had climbed onto the kitchen counter to raid the fruit bowl.
“The morning after that, they had managed to breach the refrigerator and help themselves to a carton of eggs. ‘Uh-oh,’ we heard our girls whisper. ‘Mom and Dad are not going to like this.’”
The pictures of the dinosaurs’ escapades have received a tumult of praise on Facebook and Twitter.
A tweeter called @askdadblog says: “You and your wife win the internet. This is genius. Can we be friends?”
And in comments under a photo which shows one of the walls in the Tuma household spray-painted ‘by the dinosaurs’, a Facebook user says “Full marks for commitment! You must be the most awesome parents.”
Mr Tuma explains that the couple planned the dino-antics as they did not want their daughters to lose their sense of “wonder and imagination”.
He said: “In a time when the answers to all the world’s questions are a web-search away, we want our kids to experience a little mystery."
