The Flying Scotsman is perhaps the most famous train in the world.

Whilst the name 'Flying Scotsman' is still used by trains on the East Coast route, the original Flying Scotsman is locomotive 60103.

Back on the tracks this year after an extensive renovation, the restored locomotive has been delighting railway fans new and old. The BBC Four programme Flying Scotsman from the Footplate airs at 9pm on December 29 and gives viewers the chance to sit back and enjoy a 60-minute trip from the driving seat of the Flying Scotsman.
