Ant and Dec have revealed that they would do anything for Text Santa - even if it would involve a dare live on television.

Presenting duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are to host this year's fundraising telethon alongside Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, and Paddy McGuinness and Christine Bleakley, and they are prepared for the worst.

"We're up for anything," Dec said. "This year, there's a whisper that we may do an Ant v Dec challenge live on the show - we have no idea what we will have to do."

Ant said: "I bet it will be scary."

Over the past two years, Ant and Dec have taken part in a number of Text Santa dares in a bid to raise money. In 2011, the duo were forced to do a Bushtucker Trial to raise £100,000 as the roles on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! were reversed.

In 2012, they switched places on stage from their legendary usual positions; Ant on the left, Dec on the right.

"We didn't realise that would work so well," Ant said.

The duo admitted that there is a not-so-secret competitive streak with each other.

"Not very secretly. I always want to win," said Dec, as Ant agreed: "We are very open about it."

This year's Text Santa will feature the stars of Coronation Street performing Fairytale Of Weatherfield with Shane MacGowan of The Pogues, and there's a special edition of Take Me Out, among other treats.
