The nation turned out in patriotic force to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s ascension to the throne during a long weekend of commemorative events in June 2012.

This photo of a Lancaster Bomber and Spitfires flying over The Mall came at the culmination of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations as members of the Royal Family gathered together for a flypast on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
