Email may seem a bit ancient to some given that we now have instant messages courtesy of Facebook and WhatsApp, but it’s still very popular for newsletters, e-bills and so much more.
There are so many ways to access your email these days, whether it’s from the online webmail using a browser, through an app on your smartphone or by using software on your computer which retrieves new messages automatically.
Microsoft’s Mail app is one of the many tools given a refresh on Windows 10. The Mail app will alert you to new emails in the Action Center, and the Live Tile on the Start Menu also tells you what’s in your inbox.
It’s possible to set up the Mail app to read mail from any email address, including BT mail. To find out how you can set yours up, follow the steps below:
Step 1 – Open the Mail app
Go to the Start Menu and click the Mail icon as seen below:
Click the Get Started button on the box that appears.
Step 2 – Adding your email address
If you’re logged onto your Windows 10 PC using a Microsoft account, you’ll see that email address listed. To add your BT email address (or others), click Add account.
From the list, go down to Other account.
In the boxes, enter your email address and password for your BT mail account. The Mail app is a secure piece of software by Microsoft itself, but you enter your account details at your own risk.
Step 3 – Finishing up
Click the Sign in button once you’ve filled out the boxes.
Give your account a name, and click Sign in.
The app will then confirm everything has been set up. Click Done at the bottom.
Then select Ready to go to start using Mail.
Step 4 – Finding your emails
To get emails specifically from your BT email account, click the icon showing vertical lines at the top right of the browser and select your BT email address.
Your emails should start to appear once they have loaded.
