Watch the Great British public test their nerve with a VR rollercoaster

Is virtual reality so realistic it brings genuine thrills? We put some willing volunteers on an extreme VR rollercoaster to find out.

From spiders and heights to snakes and the dark, everyone has something they are scared of. Virtual reality is now so good, it allows you to experience these, experiencing genuine fear and pushing you to your limits.

VR has evolved into one of the most exciting new technologies. Cutting-edge computing technology means that by putting on a headset like the HTC Vive linked to a gaming PC like the Acer Predator G6, you can be transported to another world, with realistic graphics and sound effects that can make you genuinely scared.

We asked members of the Great British public to try VR, first taking them deep under the sea bed, then to the Star Wars planet of Tatooine.

For the next VR experience they rode a rollercoaster in the game ‘Ultimate Booster Experience’. Check out the video below to see how they got on.
