The iPad has a large display for displaying photographs, but sometimes you want to share them with friends who aren’t sitting by your side.
This is easy as long as you – and they - are connected to the internet. You can send your images by email, post them to Facebook, or share them using a service like Twitter, Flikr or iCloud.
The easiest way to send images is via Mail or Facebook. This guide will show you how easy it is to share images.
To get the best from the iPad's camera read our guide here.
Step 1: Open the Photos app
Tap on the Photos app to view all the images stored on your iPad, these are organised by Years, Collections and Moments.
Tap Photos at the bottom and you'll see your pictures split into Years. Tap on one and all the photos are split into Collections by date. Tap each one and you’ll see photos are now categorised as Moments. Slide left and right between them.
Tap the top-right Moments icon to zoom back out through the photos again.
Step 2: Tap Share
When you’ve found a photograph that you want to share, tap on the Share icon in the bottom-left of the screen.
The photo will zoom out and a blue tick will appear next to it. Underneath you’ll see lots of sharing options such as Message, Mail, iCloud and Facebook.
Step 3: Select more images
You can share more than one image at once. Tap on some more images at the top of the screen to place blue ticks in them (you can also slide left and right along this list).
The amount of images you can share varies depending what feature you are using the send them, so it’s best to stick at three or four images at most.
Step 4: Email
The easiest way to share images is to use Mail. Once you have selected your images tap Share - Mail and a New Message window will appear. Enter the email address (or name of the person if they’re in your Contacts) in the 'To' field.
Now tap on Subject and give a title to your email, you can also add a message in the main window if you want before tapping Send in the top-right.
If the email containing the photos is too big, options to reduce the size will appear. Medium is good for sharing. The bigger the file size the longer it will take the recipient to download the photos.
Step 5: Facebook
Another popular way to share images is via Facebook. If you have Facebook set up on your iPad then you can share images very quickly.
Tap Share - Facebook icon instead of Mail and a different window will pop-up with space for a short message.
You can also choose to add the photos to a Facebook Album and whether to share your Location from this window. (The first time you do this you might be asked to enter your Facebook name and password.)
Tap Post and the message and photo will be shared to Facebook.
