Reviews from the technology press have heaped praised on the Galaxy S8…..

After a week with the phone Dan Seifert, writing in The Verge, said:  “They are easily the best phones released so far this year, and may turn out to be the best phones of the year, period.”

He praised the gorgeous design, camera and screen on both phones.

Tech Radar’s Gareth Beavis describes the S8 as a premium phone offering an “exceptional experience” for the user:  “The large screen is a real turning point in flagship phone design and should usher in the end of large bezels, and the camera and slick performance work brilliantly under the finger.”

Samsung’s flagship also got the thumbs up from Stuff.TV's Elissa Loi who was bowled away by the design, giving the phone five stars: “What you’re left with here is a brilliant smartphone experience, wrapped in one of the sleekest designs ever. If you’re looking for a smartphone that nails every aspect of everything you could want in the palm of your hand, this is it.”

Max Parker from Trusted Reviews awarded the Galaxy S8 five stars, describing it as a “new beginning” for flagship phones and praising the usability and design: “It crams a huge screen into a compact body, without sacrificing features such as water-resistance and expandable storage, and takes phone design to the next level. Once you’ve picked up a Samsung Galaxy S8, all other phones will somehow feel less interesting.”

Ars Technica UK’s Mark Walton applauded the design, build, screen, and headphone audio, finishing his review with the words: “For all the cheaper options out there, there's no other phone I'd rather have with me. It's simply irresistible.”

The S8+ is the slightly larger version, with a 6.2-inch screen, Dan Grabham reviewed it for T3.com describing it as “probably the best phone of 2017 so far”, with the infinity display and performance impressing.
