Almost all of us have had a night’s sleep ruined by snoring. The solution is usually to flip the transgressor on to their front or to find somewhere else to sleep.
The ‘Snore Activated Nudging Pillow’ claims to offer a solution that doesn’t require any pushing or bed-swapping: it gently encouraging snorers to turn over themselves.
Built into the pillow is a microphone which picks up vibrations created by snoring. As it does this, an internal sack within the pillow inflates, causing the sleeper to adjust their sleeping position and thus stop snoring.
The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted to suit light or heavy sleepers, or turned off altogether, and the intensity of the pillow’s inflation can be adjusted from 4-7-inches (10-18cm).
To ensure the sleeper falls asleep before the pillow inflates, there’s a 30-minute delay.
For optimal comfort and to improve snoring, the pillow is contoured and filled with 100% polyurethane and includes a washable cover.
The Snore Activated Nudging Pillow costs $149.95 (£92), which makes it one of the priciest pillows we’ve seen, but what price is a good night’s sleep? (via Gizmodo)
