Arriving in a chauffeur-driven limousine makes a big style statement, but how about arriving with seven friends in a limo capable of 170mph?
That's the claim made by British coach-builder Wilcox Limousines, who have been creating limousines and hearses from Jaguar cars since 1969 and are the only coach-builder authorised by Jaguar in the world.
Their latest offering is based on the XJR supersaloon and its 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine pushing out 542bhp. Despite being almost 6.4 metres in length the eight-seater limousine can reach a reputed 170mph.
Building the XJR limousine requires the car to be cut in two and a new aluminium centre section created to give the additional length and seating capacity, which also explains the price of around £175,000 for a car in this specification.
