Google’s Santa Tracker lets you track Father Christmas and his reindeer on their epic trip around the world on Christmas Eve.

But you don’t have to wait until December 24 for the fun to start. From December 1, Santa’s Village will be open for you to play games and unlock what’s behind each door.

What is Google’s Santa Tracker?

Now in its 12th year, the tracker is a way for you to keep tabs on Father Christmas as he moves about the globe using Google Maps.

If you go to on your desktop, mobile (Android/iOS), the Android App, Android TV app or Chromecast, the tracker will be live from December 24.

Alternatively, on Christmas Eve you can type “Santa tracker” into Google Maps and find him there.

How do you download it?


You can download the app for your Android phone or TV at Google Play, and this app also gives you games with elves in jetpacks, rolling gumballs, sleighs powered by rockets, alongside the tracker.

Games also include a present quest – see how many of Santa’s misplaced gifts you can recover.

A question to ask before December 24…

Google has said that as the countdown for Christmas gets nearer, you should ask your Pixel device or Google Home "Where is Santa", for an answer that may surprise you.

However, one game is already available: just click in the top right-hand corner to find Santa Mapsdive. You have to help Santa collect all the gifts to win using your keyboard or mouse. See what you can find!
